An annual ranking of the most accident-prone drivers has pegged Worcester and Boston, MA motorists as the worst in the country among large urban centers.

On average, drivers in Worcester will have a collision every 4.3 years while drivers in Boston will go slightly longer, getting in a collision ever 4.4 years according to the study by Allstate Insurance. This is the first time in six straight years that Washington D.C. did not have the worst score, though the nation’s capital did register in the third spot with an average of 5.1 years between crashes.

To come up with these numbers, Allstate analysed its claim data between January 2011 and December 2012. Not surprisingly, dense urban centers register the most collisions according to the report.

On the flip side, Fort Collins, CO was the safest city to drive in for the fourth time in a row. Motorists in that Colorado town get into accidents about every 14.2 years, making those drivers 29.6 percent less likely to crash than the national average.

As for other large U.S. urban centers, New York City ranked 155th on the list with an averae of 7.8 years, LA ranked 188th and Chicago placed 139th.
